About Shawn Soole:

Shawn Soole exported himself from Australia to Canada about 4 ½ years ago
in the search for new, greener pastures. His career started just over a decade ago in
Brisbane, starting off as a waiter and then finding his passion for the bar far too
great. He bartended and managed at some of the cities most upscale and
contemporary cocktail bars, restaurants & resorts including Jorge, Vino’s & the only
five star resort in the Whitsunday’s – Hayman Island. Working in diverse
environments such as restaurants, wine & cocktail bars, flair tending bars & boutique
beer cafes has given Shawn an insight to every facet of the industry, trying to
experience all aspects from grass roots bartending to executive management.

In the few years leading up to leaving for Canada, Shawn organised, judged
& competed in numerous mixology & flair tending competitions including winning
his first Australian Bartenders Guild State Title at the age of 21, was named one of
Australia’s Best Bartenders and had recipes published in various publications across
the country.

Shawn is currently manning the bar at the Chateau Victoria, Clive’s Classic
Lounge is the reinvention of the classic cool hotel lobby bar with a modern edge
serving only the best ingredients, freshly squeezed juices and imported beer.

Shawn is also refocussing his company The Liquid Revolution towards
his line of bar tools, the first of which being the VIVA! Stick, an affordable and
cutting edge designed muddler that is affordable and is available worldwide.

He has also been Senior Editor / Master Mixologist of Chilled Magazine, a
nightlife magazine that will be covering everything from mixology to DJ’s to wine, all
aspects of the industry. Shawn also writes for a number of magazines include Liquor
Canada, Publican, Bar Magazine Slovakia, Bar & Club Australia and many smaller
publications locally.

He has appeared on the national TV show, Cityline and is a speaker at bar
shows such as Rhode Island, Calgary and Halifax and is beginning to become the
MC for many of Canada’s Cocktail Competition. Shawn has been featured in Bar &
Beverage Magazine, Sante Magazine, EAT BC, About.com, F&B Magazine, Imbibe
& local publications. He was voted one of the TOP 40 Foodies under 40 in 2009 in
Western Living.
