Bio:
Jason has been involved in the hospitality industry for almost half his life, starting as a hotel kitchen porter at 15 and taking on a variety of jobs from waiter to chef. But it was the bar where he found his calling and he started behind the wood just as soon as he finished college and it was legal for him to do so! Since then he has honed his craft in a variety of establishments, from hotels to high street restaurants and even a 3 year stint at TGI Fridays. This later led to him joining a former collegue in a new business venture that began with a small restaurant in the South of England and culminated with the creation of the Mix Bars which went on to achieve national recognition for Best New Bar in the South of England and London in 2008. A love for the outdoors and a close affinity to Vancouver saw him move to the city in 2009, where he now resides as bar manager at Calabash Bistro. Since taking on this position, Jason has fed a hobby and passion for rum to build one of the largest collections of the spirit available to the consumer in Canada.
